Eye to Eye -
Present beauty

Eye to Eye refers to Audre Lorde’s essay in her book Sister Outsider and is a homage to the dynamism, activism and agency of black women in a series of portraits, which strives to counter the negative white reactions to Blackness and counter the harmful impacts of internalized racism and sexism on self-esteem and relationships between Black women.
This series of paintings is a colourful meditation on listening, listening to what black women are telling us. Listen.
